Why you should have a virtual landline number: guest blog from Numberite
A couple of weeks ago, I attended a new networking event in Exeter and was fortunate to meet up with the lovely Pauline Bonito from Numberite.
It was really interesting to talk to Pauline about the changes in her industry and the services that her company, Numberite, offer.
I thought it may be useful to share this with you and Pauline kindly agreed to be a guest blogger!
“Forwarding” or “Virtual Landline” numbers and the top 10 benefits they can offer your business
1, Virtual landline numbers can be set up within minutes with no setup fee.
These are numbers starting with 01, 02, as well as 0800 or 0330 numbers, but without a PSTN landline. This means you can select a local or national phone number without the need or cost of a physical line being installed. As an example if you require an Exeter number you can select an Exeter area number which will forward calls to your mobile or landline, whatever area you are in.
2, Call Whisper
When a call is received on your virtual number this is forwarded to your mobile or landline and when answered by you, you will hear a “Call Whisper”. This is a phrase that only you will hear, so you are aware the caller has called your virtual number. This allows you to answer the call with either a business or personal introduction keeping business and personal calls separate when answering.
3, Features and Functions
Virtual numbers have a multitude of features and functions to allow you to manage your calls. These include Auto-Attendant (“Press 1…”), Voicemail to Email, Timed Call Routing and many more.
4, Portability
Should you be using your own personal landline to advertise your business this can be a problem if you move house/office. You cannot usually take the number with you meaning your customers may lose contact with you. Using a virtual number allows you to move house or business premises as your virtual number moves with you.
5, Run your business from your mobile – with a landline number
The virtual number allows you to run your business from a mobile, but show a landline number to your customers. You can also call out as your virtual number using a software app on your mobile smartphone, which will show your virtual landline number; we call this a “One User Phone System”.
6, Tracking advertisements
Different numbers can be used for different adverts and allows you to monitor advertising revenue, i.e. using our web portal you are able to monitor how many times your virtual number was called linked to your advertisement.
7, Advertise to another area
For example you already have an Exeter number, but want to advertise to a Newton Abbot or Plymouth demographic to increase your customer base. The calls can be forwarded to your Exeter number.
8, Approval numbers
If you are looking to win contracts in a different area, these numbers can help you to appear local.
9, Employee local numbers
If your employees or remote workers are distant from your office, these numbers can help keep the call charges down.
10, Virtual fax
“Fax to Email” – save the cost of a line dedicated to a fax, a number can be issued which will receive faxes and send to email with an attached PDF.
